Led by CBJ member and volunteer Dan Leemon, the focus of Junior Congregation is on grades 3 through 6, but Dan’s charisma and guitar make his services fun for all ages. During the school year, one grade helps Dan lead the prayers each week. The monthly practice leading the Shabbat morning service is an essential piece of our Religious School curriculum. But parents and children of all ages like to attend, whether or not their grade is leading. Here is where community forms. Here is where life-long commitment to synagogue life is forged.
Ordinarily Junior Congregation goes on hiatus over summer vacation, but Dan is generously continuing through the time of shelter in place, as so many parents have told us that the service provides their family with an anchor for their week. We hope to see you there!
