It’s in the Air – Antisemitism and Anti-Israeli Bias at Stanford

Saturday, February 1, 2025 3 Shevat 5785

1:30 PM - 3:00 PMChapel, Congregation Beth Jacob

After a disturbing increase in reports of antisemitism on the Stanford campus, the University assembled a Sub-Committee on Antisemitism and Anti-Israeli Bias to characterize the antisemitism on campus and make recommendations to help mitigate these issues.

We are fortunate to host the two co-chairs of this subcommittee, Professors Larry Diamond and Jeffrey Koseff, to discuss their findings on the scope and depth of issues at our esteemed neighbor and how members of the CBJ community can support students during these times.  They will explore how antisemitism has impacted student life at Stanford, share their recommendations to counter hate and polarization and restore the ideals and values so important to ensuring a positive experience for all Stanford community members, particularly Jewish and Israeli students.

Mosbacher Senior Fellow in Global Democracy at the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies.  Larry leads FIS’s Israel Studies Program and is member of the Program on Arab Reform and Development. Professor Emeritus of Environmental Engineering and founding co-director of the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment.  Jeff has served on Board of Governors of The Israel Institute of Technology.
