Overview
Congregation Beth Jacob is a vibrant and welcoming community grounded in Jewish values, practice, and learning. We strive to honor the diversity and individuality of all our members. Located in Redwood City, California, our synagogue attracts congregants from a broad swath of the San Francisco Peninsula. We are led with warmth and wisdom by Rabbi Nathaniel Ezray, Rabbi Ilana Goldhaber-Gordon, Ritual Director Bill Futornick, and Cantor Barbara Powell.
Founded in 1930, we have a rich history as the first Jewish institution built between San Francisco and San Jose. [more]

CBJ Covenant of Respectful Dialogue and Holy Community
For many years we have made efforts to create a synagogue community in which we recognize our differences and engage in passionate disagreement with respect. These efforts reflect our values of embracing divergence and of lifting up differing opinions. Read our Covenant HERE.
