CBJ Cares
Congregation Beth Jacob is an inclusive, vibrant community that embraces the foundational Jewish value of Chesed, loving kindness. CARES seeks to strengthen the fabric of the community, for members to both give and to receive. We support community members in times of illness and in times of loss.
The meals team works together to provide nutritious, home-cooked food for those recovering from illness or surgery, for those observing Shiva as needed, or when there is a new life in the family.
We are a team of outreach callers who stay in touch with our most vulnerable members; those who may be isolated during times of particular challenge, as during the COVID pandemic and during extreme weather events. We also outreach to members before major Jewish holidays to ascertain needs and make connections.
If you can envisage yourself as one of our needed volunteers please contact us.
If you are in need of support please contact us; at CBJ we often say Hineni or, "I am Here," and for CARES, WE ARE HERE to support you in any of your needs.
If you are in need of help or would like to offer help to someone else, please contact Cantor Barbara Powell, Linda Softley, whose information can be found in our online member directory, or the office.
