Our Mission

It is our mission to be a truly inclusive synagogue, providing a range of opportunities to learn, worship, and socialize that meet our members and their families wherever they are educationally, spiritually, and personally.

Our Values

We cherish sacred community (kehilah kedosha).
We promote lifelong learning and growth.
We practice acts of loving-kindness (chesed), justice (tzedek), and charity (tzedakah).
We honor shared stories.
We embrace inclusivity.

Sacred Song Circle with Cantor Barbara
    Shabbat, Jul 19th 1:30p to 2:30p
Join Cantor Barbara for an hour of singing that connects us to the sacred. Songs from Jewish and other sources, wordless melodies-niggunim, chant, and prayers. Music helps connect us to something larger than ourselves. Voices raised in song blend our souls and help create a sense of belonging that can be transcendent. One reason we sing our prayers is that melodies and music have the power to go beyond words in Hebrew or English, to touch us emotionally, physically, spiritually. Bring your voice, your presence, and nourish your neshama.

    Sisterhood and NBCC Tea Party
    Sunday, Jul 20th 3:00p to 5:00p
CBJ/NBCC LADIES' TEA: WOMEN THRIVING TOGETHER Come join with women from CBJ and from the NBCC (New Beginnings Community Church) for our annual tea. Our theme this year is Women Thriving Together. This is our fifth year of bringing the women from our communities together. Enjoy socializing with some ice breaker games, sip tea and nibble on refreshments, and then be inspired by the speaker, Dr. Christina Coleman, as she shares tips on how to take care of ourselves. Note: Attendance is limited to 50 women each from CBJ and NBCC. If you RSVP but then realize you can't make, please cancel at least one week in advance of tea to allow for others to join. Feel free to bring a friend - if so, include guest's name in your RSVP. Can't make this event? Save the date for future events: August 17: Beach walk in Half Moon Bay (co-ed) September 11: Women's wellness event, for CBJ Sisterhood, at PJCC October 12: Wine and cheese in the CBJ Sukkah (co-ed)
